As the iconic Bruce Lee said, “The successful warrior is the average man, with laser-like focus.”

How tuned is your mind? Yoga and the martial arts are similar in that they are both mental and physical practices. Focus is important – particularly in positions requiring balance. In yoga, a focused gaze is called your dristhi. It helps stabilize the mind and anchor the body, allowing you to hold the pose longer. Once you shift your eyes off your focal point, you’re likely to fall. Steadiness is achieved through the ability to withdraw the senses from your surroundings (pratyahara) and concentrate intently (dharana). With consistent practice, this can help you develop single-pointed focus (ekagraha). If you want to achieve your goals in business and in life, fix your gaze. Take on the determination of a warrior. Be unwavering in your resolve. Control your environment by eliminating distractions. Flex your self-control muscles. Lay the groundwork for success by directing your attention to what matters.

Until next time, remember – it’s your divine life, live it to the fullest. The power is in your hands!

With Purpose & Power,
