GLOBAL VIEW: Although I am American, I was blessed to have an international upbringing. My parents were pioneers in cross-cultural communications and Learning through the Arts. I was born in Accra, Ghana; started school in Adelaide, Australia; and as a Stetcher Scholar, studied and lived in Rome, Italy. I have traveled to over 30 countries around the world and have been on all continents except for Antarctica. I am joyful when I board trains and planes (not necessarily automobiles).

Integrative Healthcare Symposium 2009

On February 19th and 20th, 2009, I participated in the Integrative Healthcare Symposium in New York. The event is a gathering of influential and inspiring practitioners and healthcare professionals in integrative medicine and offers informational programs, updates on evidence-based research, and peer-to peer networking. On February 19th, I moderated a panel entitled “From Local to Global: Nursing Leadership for Change.” Panelists include: Barbara Dossey, PhD, RN; Barbara Sattler, PhD, RN; Dorothy Larkin, PhD, RN; Mary Jo Kreitzer, PhD, RN. On Saturday, February 20th, I taught a Ta Yoga class for the program. I’m honored to be a part of these landmark activities.
