On Saturday, May 16, 2015, I was delighted to have a birthday lunch with two of my favorite women – my mom Janie Sykes-Kennedy and teacher/mentor 96-year-old Yoga Master Tao Porchon-Lynch at the Taj Palace in White Plains, New York. Together, we are co-authors on Tao’s new memoir, Dancing Light: The Spiritual Side of Being Through the Eyes of a Modern Yoga Master.

With warm waters, fresh fruits, friendly people and (nearly) perfect weather, the island of Jamaica is a slice of paradise. That was the setting for our writing retreat for 96-year-old Tao Porchon-Lynch’s upcoming inspirational memoir, Dancing Light: The Spiritual Side of Being Through the Eyes of a Modern Yoga Master. Check out the pictures from the December trip and then join Tao for a retreat in Jamaica from May 4th – 10th!!
THE BUZZ: On Tuesday, March 3, 2015, I had the honor of speaking on a panel for the 2015 American Heart Association Go Red Luncheon held at the New York Hilton Midtown. The educational breakout was entitled, “Finding Your Passion to Find Heart Health.” I shared the stage with a group of dynamic women including Agapi Stassinopoulos (bestselling author and speaker), Icilma V. Fergus, MD, FACC (Director of Cardiovascular Disparities at Mount Sinai Medical Center), MaryAnn Browning (Founder & President of Browning’s Fitness) and our moderator Dr. Suzanne Steinbaum (Director of Women’s Heart Health of Lenox Hill Hospital).
