As Barbara Bush said: “Believe in something larger than yourself… get involved in the big ideas of your time.”

How engaged are you in societal issues? The wife of the 41st President and the parent of the 43rd, Barbara Bush holds a unique place in history. Having raised six children, she was the matriarch of a political dynasty as well as a trusted advisor when her husband was in office. Described as “warm but tough,” she used her platform for good and raised over $1 billion for literacy and cancer charities. She also spoke up in relation to AIDS and women’s rights. Be inspired by the former First Lady and get involved. You don’t need a formal position to make a difference. Find an initiative that resonates with you. Roll up your sleeves and volunteer. Look at your community to see what is needed. Mentor a young person. Help clean up the environment. Join a march for a cause. Share your voice in social media conversations on the “big issues” that are being discussed in the world. A movement starts by people moving towards a shared vision. Your participation matters.

Until next time, remember-it’s your divine life, live it to the fullest. The power is in your hands!

With Purpose & Power,

Terri
