Tao’s 94th Birthday Party

THE BUZZ: On Sunday, August 12th, 2012, I attended the 94th Birthday party for yoga master Tao Porchon-Lynch. It was held at the Knollwood Country Club in Elmsford, NY.

Tao’s party has become an annual tradition. So many people who have been touched by Tao’s life come out to celebrate her. We have great food, touching tributes and Tao dances…then we all dance! Joyce Pines outdid herself in the planning again.

This year, my mom and sister joined me which was an extra treat. I had the honor, with my mom, of doing a special toast for Tao. Tao also reminded us that on her 100th birthday, we are invited on a camel safari in India. You know I will be there!

The other treat was seeing Joanna Rothschild‘s new baby girl, Natasha Tao (named after guess who). She is such a yogi baby in that her spirit is extremely peaceful. She blessed the entire room by her little (but expansive) presence, and Joanna graced us with a beautiful poem she/NataRaj wrote.
